Are you looking for a special experience for you and your friends, colleagues, or family? Jack London State Historic Park is pleased to offer private guided tours for adult and family groups, Monday through Friday. Our tours are led by experienced and knowledgeable docents who delight in sharing the history and natural beauty of the park with our visitors.
Each guided tour is approximately 2 hours in duration. For school and camp groups, please visit our Field Trips page under Tours & Education.
- All private group tours require advance online reservations at least 14 days before the requested tour date.
- Group size is limited to 40 visitors per tour (Senior Tour 20 visitors). Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your tour begins, to use the restroom facilities.
- A maximum of 20 visitors are allowed in the museum, and 10 in the Cottage, at one time. Groups larger than this will need to divide and rotate smaller groups through. Groups with reservations have priority entrance to the Cottage and Museum.
- Are booked Monday-Friday only.
Cancellation policy: You must cancel 24 hours in advance (before 5pm) to receive a refund. Tours canceled due to extreme weather are exempt from the policy and will be re-scheduled or refunded. Our tour docent will plan to meet your group rain or shine, unless you cancel. Please call the park office at 707-938-5216 as soon as possible if you need to cancel your tour.
The Cottage & Beauty Ranch tour begins any time between 11 am and 2 pm and includes the Museum and Londons’ Cottage as well as a guided walk to the Pig Palace, winery ruins, and stone barns. Maximum group size is 40 people (rotating through in groups of 10) due to limited space inside the Cottage.
The Beauty Ranch only tour begins any time between 10 am and 2 pm and includes the Museum, as well as a guided walk to the Pig Palace, winery ruins, and stone barns. Maximum group size is 40 people.
The Wolf House tour begins any time between 10 am to 2 pm and includes the Museum as well as a half-mile walk to the Wolf House and the grave site. Maximum group size is 40 people.
The Senior Cottage and Museum tour begins any time between 11 am and 2 pm and is designed for visitors with limited walking ability that arrive by bus. The tour group will visit the Museum and then move by bus to the Beauty Ranch for a tour of the Cottage interior. Maximum group size is 20 people. Accessibility: A lift provides access to the first floor of the Museum and a ramp provides access to the Cottage. Doorways at both locations have a minimum width of 30 inches. Transportation for accessibility purposes is also available in our electric cart with advance notice.
The Self-Guided tour is designed for groups with more than 40 people without a park-provided docent. These tours do not include a tour of the Cottage interior. Entry into the Museum is limited to a maximum of 20 visitors at a time.
NOTE: All tours include the House with Happy Walls Museum.

Only online reservations are accepted and they must be submitted at least 14 days before the requested tour date. Only one private group tour is accepted for each day and groups are limited to 40 (Senior tour 20). Reservations are confirmed upon payment in full and you will receive an e-mail response as confirmation. By submitting a reservation form, you agree to park rules outlined in the Group Leader’s Guide.
