About The Road
An autobiographical account of Jack London’s hobo experiences across the country in the 1890’s. Forty-five photographs show the life of hopping trains and begging for food. His exploits took place during one of the worst depressions in U.S. history and resulted in his spending thirty days in the Erie County Penitentiary after being arrested for vagrancy. The book also describes his travels with Kelly’s Army marching towards Washington, D.C. to protest the lack of jobs.
