About Dutch Courage

Published years after his death, this is a collection of Jack's short stories that were not previously published in any collection. Most of them are some of the first stories that he ever wrote. “Typhoon Off the Coast of Japan” won a writing contest when he was 17.  Many of these stories describe adventures on sealing schooners and other sailing vessels. One is set in the Klondike Gold Rush while another highlights climbing Half Dome in Yosemite. The final story is set in Mexico during their Revolution in 1914.
