Our tour invites the green-spirited and eco-conscious to participate in a curated “green” excursion that focuses on the environmental practices of the three top Glen Ellen attractions.

Green Tour Itinerary
10:30 am
Begin the tour at Sonoma Botanical Garden with a docent-led tour of Sonoma Valley’s secret garden and explore 25 acres of rare and endangered species grown from seed and wild-collected in East Asia. This woodland garden nestled in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains boasts 20,000 wild-origin plants and flowers. Take in the sites and scents as you journey through winding gravel paths flanked by flowering shrubs, exotic trees, and accompanied by tranquil ponds and seasonal waterfalls.
Noon
Continue the tour at Jack London State Historic Park where you will learn about the famous author, world traveler, and aspiring “scientific” farmer. London’s unwavering desire to connect with the natural world eventually brought him to his Glen Ellen ranch, where he devoted himself to the redemption of the “farmed out” land. Always ahead of his time, his improvements were at the forefront of sustainable agriculture. This portion of the tour includes a picnic lunch followed by a docent-led tour of the Beauty Ranch and the Cottage where he and his wife Charmian lived.
2:30 pm
Finish the tour at Benziger Family Winery. Enjoy a close-up look at their biodynamic vineyards, visit the fermentation facility, crush pad, and explore the barrel caves. The Biodynamic wine tour is approximately 45 minutes, including a special tasting of Benziger’s award-winning wines.
Cost is $75 per person (limit 10 people). Includes tours at each venue, Jack London Park entry fee, and picnic lunch from the Glen Ellen Village Market. Choose your date and make online reservations no less than two weeks in advance.
