Meet the wildlife that lives around us on Sonoma Mountain and throughout Sonoma County. Did you know that wildlife has habitat and migration/movement corridors? Who are these animals and why should we care?

Meet representatives from 13 bay area nature, environmental and rescue organizations to learn about our wildlife, their lives, and challenges for survival. Plus learn how we can all successfully coexist with hands-on demonstrations.

Participating organizations include (listed alphabetically):

  • The Bird Rescue Center – Providing emergency medical care for native wild birds.
  • Jack London State Historic Park -We rigorously protect the historic and natural character of the Park while creating inclusive opportunities for education, recreation, discovery, and joy, leaving future generations a park that would make Jack London proud
  • Landpaths – An environmental education and conservation leader fostering a love of the land in Sonoma County.
  • Living with Lions-Audubon Canyon Ranch – Studies the behavior and movements of local mountain lions, explores factors that influence their survival, and teaches children and adults how to co-exist with wildlife.
  • North Bay Bear Collaborative – A working group of agencies, non-profit conservation groups, landowners and individuals committed to being proactive liaisons between humans and bears.
  • Pepperwood Preserve – A 3,200 acre reserve and refuge for over 900 species of plants and animals.
  • Sierra Club-Sonoma Group – Identifing local environmental priorities and directing grassroots conservation activities.
  • Sonoma Ecology Center – Addressing challenges related to water supply and quality, open space, rural character, biodiversity, energy, climate change, and a better quality of life for all residents.
  • Sonoma Land Trust – Partners with local communities to protect the open, natural, and working lands and waters of Sonoma County to secure healthy and thriving futures for all.
  • Sonoma Mountain Preservation – Advocating for open space and scenic preservation of the mountain since 1993.
  • Sugarloaf Ridge State Park – A natural haven of 4,900 acres in located northeast of Kenwood in the Mayacamas Mountains between the Sonoma and Napa valleys.
  • True Wild – Working to improve people’s relationships with nature and encourage action to conserve our natural home.
  • Wildlife Rescue of Sonoma County – Dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife and the promotion, understanding, appreciation, protection and conservation of wildlife.
