FULL Join Rebecca Lawton, long-time author, scientist, and guide, for a literary bird walk on Oona-pa’is (Sonoma Mountain). We’ll stroll to the site of Jack London’s lake (and beyond as time allows), looking for wild birds and musing on seasonal and long-term changes in water, wildlife, and writing on the mountain before, during, and after Jack London’s time. This will be a slow-paced walk and recommended for ages 12 and above.
The distance we’ll cover will be based on the bird life we see but expect 1 to 3 miles round trip.
Wear sturdy shoes, bring water and optional snacks and hiking poles, and dress in layers. Binoculars are highly recommended.
Limited to 15 birders. Rain will cancel.
When: Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 8:00 am to 10:00. Meet in the ranch parking lot on the right as you enter the park.
Admission: $10 (parking fee extra)
