Are You Ready?
Discover how great you will feel when you start the new year off on the right foot on the 2025 First Day Hike. Our 12th Annual Hike to the Summit of the Park can be either a personal challenge to see if you can still make it to the top or the start of the new year to get back into shape, designed for all fitness levels with guides to help you return to the parking lot at any time. The roundtrip hike is 8 miles and moderately strenuous. When you reach the top, smile and be ready to have your picture taken while celebrating your achievement with others, at the top of the mountain. The incredible views will be part of your reward along with the satisfaction of knowing you started the new year on a positive note!
Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, bring hiking poles, if you have them, water, lunch/snacks, and a camera, or binoculars for the spectacular view at the top!!
By participating in our First Day Hikes you will also participate in the national “First Day Hikes” movement sponsored by America’s State Parks, offering an opportunity to kick off your new year with a healthy start. The January 1, 2025 hike for health at Jack London State Historic Park is part of a collaborative national fitness event with California State Parks.

Where: Jack London State Historic Park, 2400 London Ranch Road, Glen Ellen, CA – Meet in the ranch parking lot on the right as you enter the park.
