Our guided school tours are led by a team of dedicated volunteers committed to providing meaningful learning experiences for our visitors. To support this, we have a strict maximum group size of 40 people per tour, per day (including teachers and chaperones). Our group ratio is set at 20 students/adults per 1 docent and we require groups to have a minimum of 1 supervising adult for every 10 students. If you are interested in bringing a group larger than 40 to the park, please visit our Self-Guided Tour page for more information. All pre-scheduled school groups gain free entry into the park. Each guided tour is approximately 2 hours in duration.
Reservation policy: Tours are available Monday through Friday. Reservations must be submitted 14 days in advance of the requested date. You will receive an e-mail response as confirmation. By submitting a reservation, you agree to park rules outlined in the Group Leader’s Guide.
Cancellation policy: You must cancel 24 hours in advance. Tours canceled due to inclement weather are exempt from the policy and will be re-scheduled. You must cancel with the Museum office at 707-938-5216 ext 1, as our docents will be ready to meet your group rain or shine.
Please note: Groups visiting the Museum may send only 20 people at a time through. Please divide large groups into smaller sub-groups and rotate through.
The Park Orientation Video offers a 24-minute informational tour of the park and is a great way to prepare for your visit.
The Group Leader’s Guide is designed to be a helpful resource for educators and group leaders on their own and contains maps and information about the Park, as well as historical and cultural information.
