  Join us for the annual Call of the Wild Festival, a fun-filled community celebration presented by Jack London Park Partners. This lively event invites local families, visitors, and community partners to enjoy a memorable day of live music, delicious food, guided hikes and tours, children’s art activities, craft demonstrations, and tractor-pulled hayrides.
  Now in its fifth year, the festival is a wonderful way to experience the park’s natural beauty and history while celebrating the adventurous spirit of Jack and Charmian London.

Activities

10:00 AM – 1:00 PM – Family & Friends Hike – Sign up here!

This hike will take you through the ranch and up to London Lake. For those who prefer to return early for the festivities, a guide will lead you back (~2.2 miles roundtrip, moderate). For those looking to add a bit more adventure, a hike leader will continue on to the Ancient Redwood (~3.5 miles roundtrip, moderate).

11:00 AM & 1:00 PM – Guided tours to the Wolf House

11:00 AM – 2:00 PM – Jack London Treasure Map art project with ArtEscape

11:00 AM – 2:00 PM – Face painting with ArtEscape

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM – Beauty Ranch Bingo & The Adventure Quest Passport

Looking for a fun way to explore the park at your own pace? Pick up a Beauty Ranch Bingo card or an Adventure Quest Passport and                                                  let it guide you through Jack’s history, agriculture, and innovation. Complete a card or passport quest to receive a prize!

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM – Blacksmith demonstration in front of the Distillery

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM – Tractor-pulled hayrides around the Ranch

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM – Visit the Winery Ruins for additional kid-friendly games and crafts

11:30 AM 12:30 PM – A storytelling journey at the museum!

Join us at the House of Happy Walls for a special storytelling experience with Brandon Spars, as he shares stories from Tales of the Fish Patrol, inspired by Jack London’s experiences as a teenager on the San Francisco Bay in the early 1890s.

Brandon is an educator, author, and accomplished storyteller who weaves together ancient history and narrative, with four published books, a TEDx talk, and performances at renowned storytelling festivals, including the National Storytelling Festival.

1:00 PM – Guided tour of Jack London’s Beauty Ranch

 

Live Music & Good Eats

11:00 AM – 2:00 PM – Enjoy live country music from Tommy Thomsen, performing in the Winery Ruins, thanks to Music in Place

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM – Tri Tip Trolley serving savory favorites and comfort food classics

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM – Kona Ice

When Jack wasn’t on his ranch, he was sailing the South Seas—cool off with a refreshing cup of tropical shaved ice!

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM – Treat yourself to a crisp cider from Tilted Shed Ciderworks.

11:00 PM – 3:00 PM – This year we’re celebrating the 150th birthday of Jack London! Stop by the birthday booth to pick up a complimentary Jack London birthday hat and enjoy a sweet birthday treat.
