Hike #2: Ancient Redwood
The Ancient Redwood private guided hike is a moderate, mostly shaded experience that travels 3.5 miles roundtrip with an elevation gain of 200 feet. Total hiking time generally ranges from 3 to 4 hours, depending on the level of park interpretation requested by the group.
This hike highlights London Lake and the historic redwood log bathhouse before continuing to one of the park’s most remarkable natural features, an ancient old growth redwood measuring approximately 14 feet in diameter and estimated to be 1,800 to 2,000 years old. The surrounding landscape features Coast Redwoods and a beautiful mix of deciduous trees, along with opportunities to observe local wildlife.
Groups may request a short 0.2 mile extension to include the Historic Orchard.
