Jack London State Historic Park Back Country Trails

Jack London State Historic Park has over 20 miles of trails that traverse through mixed forest, redwood groves, oak woodlands, and grassy meadows. The elevation varies from 600 to 2,300 feet. Back country trails are accessible from the Beauty Ranch and begin on the Lake Trail at the parking lot. Please use a map when hiking any back country trails and bring plenty of water. Dogs are not allowed on leash or free anywhere on back country trails in the park. Due to fire danger, smoking is not allowed on any trails in the park or in any buildings. Smoking is allowed only in the 2 paved parking lots. Please fully extinguish all smoking materials to prevent wildfires.

'Who will reap what I have sown here in this almighty sweet land?  You and I will be forgotten.  Others will come and go; these, too, shall pass, as you and I shall pass, and others take their places, each telling his love, as I tell you, that life is sweet.'
~Jack London circa 1913
