The "Happy Trails" Celebration on Sunday, June 2, on the picninc grounds of Beauty Ranch, marks the "grand re-opening" of some 20 plus historic trails throughout the wilderness portion of Jack London State Historic Park.
Years of neglect and deferred maintenance had put constraints on the recreational use of the trails once designed to explore this diverse and beautiful wilderness area. Appropriately held during National Trails Weekend, the event acknowledges the dedicated efforts of volunteers who have been working tirelessly to restore trails and ensure that they are safe and accessible for all.
The Happy Trails Celebration promises to be a festive day, just like the outdoor recreation that Jack London enjoyed with his guests during the glory days of Beauty Ranch.

The backcountry of Jack London Park is a phenomenal resource for hikers, cyclists and horseback riders from all over the world. Jack and Charimian London regularly traversed these trails, and they are prominently featured in Jack’s books about the Sonoma Valley. Keeping the trails in pristine condition is a major priority for the Park.
