Begin your morning at Jack London’s Beauty ranch overlooking the vineyards and Sonoma Mountain with an introductory lesson in Tai Chi Chuan. The class, taught by Jack London State Historic Park docent and Humboldt State University Professor Doc Stull will guide you through some simple warm-ups, breathing and a short sequence of moving meditation postures. Come as you are and spend a peaceful contemplative and priceless hour in the park – no experience needed.
Then continue your experience with Michael Sheffield on a contemplative walk in silence, interspersed with occasional poetry along the way to the majestic Ancient Redwood. At this magnificent tree we will share nature poetry from a favorite poet or our original verse. Finally we will return to the begining of our walk where we will take a moment to share our experience.
For the walk wear sturdy shoes, bring water and a snack (we will not have an official lunch break), and poetry to share.
