A Walk into Early Spring

Walk into Early Spring and Wildflower Walk

A Walk into Early Spring is the first in our 2014 nature series, where we explore the animals and plants in the park. Park naturalists Deborah Large and John Lynch will guide you on this journey into early spring. Expect to see early wildflowers and learn how they are adapting to the dry winter. This will be a slow paced 3.5 mile ramble of moderate difficulty. We will begin on Lake trail, meander along Quarry trail then wind down to Vineyard trail to the Ancient Redwood. The route and distance is subject to change depending on the wildflowers! Leaves are popping up so plan on a glorious early spring adventure. Hopefully with a little rain we may see mushrooms too.

Wear sturdy shoes, bring binoculars, camera's, water, lunch and perhaps a walking stick. As always, nature promises a fascinating outing.
